The two events to take place last night in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) were a limit hold’em event and a H.O.R.S.E. event. Read the event recaps below to find out who the winners were, and check out the entire WCOOP schedule and results list on CardPlayer.com.

WCOOP Event No. 31: $1,000 Limit Hold'em

Vanessa Rousso The high-roller events continued on Saturday as the $1,000 +$50 six-handed limit hold'em event played out for 580 entrants. With a $500,000 guarantee, the 80 extra players created a total prize pool of $580,000, almost a fifth of which was earmarked for the eventual winner.

A total of 84 places were paid and included among the notables to cash were Brock "t soprano" Parker, Aaron "GambleAB" Bartley, Mark "Newhizzle" Newhouse, Dustin "neverwin" Woolf, Bryan "micon" Micon, Shannon "basebal1b" Shorr, Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan, James "Andy McLEOD" Obst and Gary "GB2005" Bogdanski.

Team PokerStars represented in a serious way. Chris "Money800" Moneymaker continued his solid WCOOP run with a 13th place finish, good for $5,220. This was Moneymaker's third top-20 score and he has two final tables to his credit as well.

After Stu "thedonator" Patterson was eliminated in 10th place, all eyes turned towards WCOOP queen Vanessa Rousso. She had a dominating lead three-handed, but it wasn't meant to be as she was eliminated shortly thereafter. Rousso earned $49,540 for her finish and now has over $160,000 in winnings at this year's WCOOP alone.

In the end, short stack aasezz mounted a comeback to defeat David "drood" Rood heads up for the title and the $107,300 first place prize.

Here were the final results:

  1. aasezz - $107,300
  2. David "drood" Rood - $80,040
  3. Vanessa "LadyMaverick" Rousso - $59,450
  4. brendol - $40,600
  5. juuuiice - $29,000
  6. Zak0707 - $17,400

WCOOP Event No. 32: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E.

Andre Akkari Perhaps the most anticpated tournament of the day was not being played out in London at the World Series of Poker - Europe, but online for the $10,000 + $300 H.O.R.S.E. tournament. A whopping 125 entrants ponied up the cash, shattering the $500,000 guarantee by $750,000. First place would receive a monsterous $287,500.

Just 24 places were paid and many of the game's best were able to walk away with a profit including Lee "LeeNelsonP*" Nelson, Thayer "THAY3R" Rasmussen, Allen "double joker" Kessler, Noah "exclusive" Boeken, Jerrod "jerrod" Ankenmen, Humberto "Humberto B." Brenes, Steve "MrSmokey1" Billirakis and Daniel "djk123" Kelly.

Team PokerStars member Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier narrowly missed out on yet another cash in this series. He bubbled the money to finish in 25th place. Fellow teammate Andre "akkari" Akkari was able to go deep, however, and found himself heads up with DocHolatchya for the win. Akkari wasn't able to make up the large lead DocHolatchya held and was eliminated in the stud round when his pair of sevens were bested by a pair of kings.

Here were the final results:

  1. DocHolatchya - $287,500
  2. Andre "akkari" Akkari - $200,000
  3. crazyjanie - $150,000
  4. pycb - $112,500
  5. pumped4good - $75,000
  6. Daniel "djk123" Kelly - $59,375
  7. 7CardRyon - $46,875
  8. gipsy74 - $38,750
