Non-Beta Mac Software Released on Poker Stars

After months of beta testing, the world’s largest online poker site, PokerStars, recently released a full Mac version of its poker client to its users.

“They didn’t rush into a launch, but developed the best software for the platform, in line with Mac user feedback and advice, to ensure users have a positive experience,” said Team PokerStars pro Bertrand Grospellier in a press release.

Players can download the software on the PokerStars website. The following are the system requirements:

Software:

• Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later

Hardware:

Minimum system configuration:

• PowerPC G4 or G5 or Intel Mac
• 512 MB RAM
• 1024x768 screen resolution or higher
• 60 MB free disk space
• 56k dial-up Internet connection

Recommended system configuration:

• PowerPC G4 1Ghz or faster, PowerPC G5 or Intel Mac
• 1024 MB RAM
• 1024x768 screen resolution or higher
• 100 MB free disk space
• 128kbps or faster DSL or Cable Internet connection

The beta version of the Mac-compatible client was released on PokerStars in December 2007. PokerStars now joins Full Tilt as the only two major online poker sites to offer software for Mac users.

The release has come just in time for its signature World Championship of Online Poker tournament series, which started on Friday. Players can also take advantage of a special PokerStars deposit bonus through Card Player.

Version 2.663 PokerStars.app Non-Beta Mac Software for real money play is available for download at http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/mac/

If PokerStars is already installed, an auto-update will automatically install this new release.

FYI:

the download link that you've given goes to http://www.pokerstars.net which is for play money. The application produced from the download is named PokerStars.net.app which is for play money.
