gaffel5 Wins Event No. 6: Shorthanded Pot-Limit Omaha

Saturday’s first FTOPS event was another shorthanded event, this time pot-limit Omaha. The $500 buy-in got a bit more money into the prize pool, which was at $387,000 after registration closed with 774 entrants. Xuan “x2then” Nguyen and Kevin “GetPWN3D” Saul both bubbled the final table in eighth and seventh place, respectively. Kyle “kwob20” Bowker, who holds two PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker titles, narrowly missed his first FTOPS win as he finished in sixth place. When all was said and done, gaffel5 had taken out Grumpy696 for the victory.

The final results were:

  1. gaffel5 — $83,205
  2. Grumpy696 — $54,567

Merovingian Wins Event No. 7: No-Limit Hold’em With Rebuys

Rebuys, specifically $100 rebuys, happen every day online. But it is rare for a rebuy tournament to generate the prize pool and entrant count that event No. 7 was able to boast about. In total, 2,254 entrants took their virtual seats for a piece of the $663,500 prize pool, the winner’s share being just over $120,000. Merovingian pocketed that huge payday when he became the last man standing.

The final results were:

  1. Merovingian — $121,719
  2. jacksup — $74,710
  3. IAmClutch — $48,899
  4. IocoPocoMaloco — $39,013
  5. ibleedbenjamins — $21,232
  6. IcePrincesca — $15,592
  7. big_deejay — $12,208
  8. Ims shutterbug — $9,289

Sleepy_Hippo Was Hungry Hungry for First Place in Event No. 8: Shorthanded No-Limit Hold’em With Bountys

Sunday’s first FTOPS event was a $120 shorthanded no-limit hold’em tournament with bountys. A huge field of 6,000 entrants ponied up the buy-in to create a $600,000 prize pool, and the remaining $20 from entry fee was placed as a bonus prize for anyone fortunate enough to take out an opponent. It is unknown how much Sleepy_Hippo made in bounties, but it is doubtful to have rivaled the $114,000 he collected for his first-place finish.

The final results were:

  1. Sleepy_Hippo — $114,612
  2. neil003 — $70,200
  3. checkdisouttt — $48,720
  4. OnlyPlayRagz — $36,000
  5. th_IN_kB4Urail — $26,400
