Goonawardana Wins Aussie Millions Event No. 6

Hometown player Marlon Goonawardana ended up with all of the chips to conclude the $1,500 no-limit hold’em bounty preliminary event at the Aussie Millions. He won AUD $155,400. Michael Binger, the third-place finisher of the 2006 World Series of Poker main event, was the runner-up, which was good for AUD $88,060.

Goonawardana’s biggest cash before this score was AUD $3,312 for finishing second in a $340 turbo event at the Crowne Casino in Melbourne, the host casino for the Aussie Millions.

The rest of the final table finished this way: third — Steve Leonard, AUD $51,800; fourth — David Kruger, AUD $41,440; fifth — Ramy Tadros, AUD $31,080; sixth — Josh Egan, AUD $23,310; seventh — Jeppe Nielson, AUD  $17,094; eighth — Kim Peart, AUD $11,396.
