Italian PokerStars pro Dario Minieri shocked the online poker world by winning three high-profile tournaments last Sunday as
well as going deep in the PokerStars Sunday Million for paydays in excess of $150,000.
Minieri, who has won more than $450,000 over his last 2,300 sit-and-go tournaments, won the $50,000 top prize in the High Stakes Showdown and $56,000 for winning the $200 rebuy tournament before chopping the $5,200 freezeout on PokerStars for $50,000.
He also finished in 42nd from around 1,800 players in the PokerStars Sunday Million.
His three victories are undoubtedly one of the most impressive feats in online poker history and came on a day when PokerStars set a new record for simultaneous players with more than 20,000 playing at peak.
Overall, PokerStars had 150,000 players logged onto the site to play poker on Sunday, Dec. 30. That's approximately 20,000 tables running at once (PokerStars runs hundreds of shorthanded games).
