The Wynn Poker Classic is Underway

Las Vegas Casino Resort Inaugural Event Boasts Impressive Poker Tournament Attendance

Wynn Hotel Casino Resort Las VegasThe Wynn Resort Casino in Las Vegas kicked off its inaugural Poker Classic event on Wednesday, with qualifying events filling the 25-table tournament arena to capacity. Satellites for the first of 19 events began at noon and ran throughout the night. The $500 no-limit hold'em tournament had a combined total of 668 players competing in two flights that took place on Wednesday and Thursday, with 76 players returning on day two for the final day of action on Friday.



Notable players returning to compete for $323,980 in prize money included Amir Marmar, Matt Rosen, Mark Edwards, Joe Griffith, Mohamed Ahmedin, Scott Epstein, Robert Cohen, Mandy Baker, Brett Thomas, and Susie Isaacs.



Lisa Adams (Tampa, FL) started day two with the chip lead, followed by Adam Brith (Atlanta, GA), Nils Bardsley (Denver, CO), Richard Klein (Denver, CO), and Dixie Haley (Bakersfield, CA).



Lisa Adams held the lead, taking home the first place prize of $110,148. Sixty-six other players won cash awards. Here were the results of the top 10:

Wynn Las Vegas Poker RoomDay one of the $1,000 no-limit hold'em, event No. 3, began today with 169 players. Tomorrow's event No. 4 is the $1,000 limit Omaha eight-or-better.



Wynn has situated the tournament arena among several convenient amenities, with restrooms nearby and the action within eyeshot of the Signature Coffee Shop. There's also the Corsa Cucina and Bar, Wynn's race and sports book, Zoota Crackers Deli, and The Drug Store, which offers toiletries, sundries, candy, and other necessities only steps from the poker room and tournament area. The Wynn guest garage is conveniently located only a few feet from the poker room.
