Ten-Time Bracelet Winner "Gives In To Father Time", Won't Play WSOP Tournaments

Ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Doyle Brunson won’t be playing the Series this summer.

The double main event champion Tweeted last night:

That's a great quote, and so appropriate! :-)

Doyle, I hope you're feeling well and doing A-OK :-) you're an inspiration to many.

Kind of sad, really. Hope this tweet was simply after a long losing cash session and was a frustration vent. Hard to imagine Doyle not at least playing in the Main Event.

Come on Doyle, I remember when you said "The saddest day of the year for a poker player is the day you get knocked out of the Main Event". Don't make the entire poker community sad by knocking yourself out before it even begins!

doyle i hope you feel better soon! maybe you could just play the big buy in short field events? i respect youre decision mr. brunson, but a wise great poker player once said, "we dont stop playing poker because we get old, we get old because we stop playing poker" or something similar to that anyway!
