Louisiana Casinos Win $2.4 Billion In 2012

Gaming Revenue Figure Up From 2011's Final Total

The Associated Press has reported that commercial casinos in Louisiana scored about $2.4 billion in gaming revenue in 2012. Last year’s figure was about $2.37 billion.

The rough breakdown reportedly was Harrah’s New Orleans with about $338.9 million, the riverboats with more than $1.6 billion and race track casinos with about $405 million.

For comparison, New Jersey took in about $3.05 billion and Pennsylvania scored $3.16 billion. The final numbers for Nevada, the nation’s top gaming market, haven’t yet been released.
