Canadian online poker player Alex Wice has entered the PokerStars Supernova VIP Club after less than 40 hours straight play.

Starting just seconds into the new year Wice and fellow player “MouldyOnions” were locked in a race to become the first to hit 100,000 VIP points with Wice hitting the target just 6,000 ahead of his opponent after 39 hours and 25 minutes.

Wice said he had been playing 50 tables at once and sweaty hands were his major problem. He will now be commemorated by PokerStars on a special deck of cards.

He is now well on track to earning the one million points needed to become a SuperNova Elite, the record for which was set by Andrew ‘anztracker’ Li last year in just two months.
