CBAC Gaming, an affiliate of Caesars Entertainment, has been awarded Maryland’s fifth casino license to operate a slot parlor in downtown Baltimore. The property will feature 3,750 slot and be named Harrah’s Baltimore.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, owner of the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, has reached an agreement with various lenders to restructure approximately $2.2 billion in debt. Bondholders will receive new securities with lengthened maturities.
Australian James Packer’s company Crown Ltd. has agreed to build a new luxury casino resort in Sydney. The deal is contingent on lawmakers granting the second property a new casino license, which will cater solely to high-rollers. The existing Crown Casino is located in Melbourne.
Construction is set to begin on a new $130 million casino in downtown Buffalo. The casino, operated by the Seneca Indian Nation, will replace a smaller existing property that opened in 2007 and has since been expanded twice.
A federal appeals court has reinstated a lawsuit against the state by a developer seeking to rebuild a casino in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The lawsuit aims to stop the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe from having exclusive rights to build a casino in Taunton.
