Betsson Poker Profit Grows 49 Percent

Scandinavian Sports Book and Poker Operator Sees Poker Rebound in Second Quarter

Betsson Plc saw gross profit for poker during the second quarter grow 49 percent to to SEK25.4 million (€3 million), up from SEK17.1 million (€2 million) in the same period last year but down eight percent on the previous quarter.

Gross profit growth in the second quarter out performed that of the first quarter which saw a rise of 34 percent.

Poker represented 6.2 percent of gross profit in the second quarter up from six percent in the first quarter of 2012 and the same as the second quarter of 2011.

Overall revenues amounted to SEK 486.2 (338.2) million, equivalent to an increase of 44 percent

Magnus Silfverberg, president and CEO of Betsson, said, ”Betsson is strengthening its position as a sportbooks operator through a broader sportsbook offering with even more mobile solutions. In addition, several technical development projects have been undertaken with the purpose of securing future growth and profitability.
