Card Player Poker Tour Kicks Off At Choctaw Casino Resort Durant
Main Event Begins Aug. 3, Boasts $500,000 Guarantee
The first stop of the inaugural Card Player Poker Tour kicked off its series today with the $100,000 guarantee $200+$35 no-limit hold’em event at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma.
“We are off to a great start today with our $100,000 guaranteed tournament,” said Choctaw Director of Poker Ken Lambert. “It’s a re-entry event with two starting days, and we thought we were going to get 225 players. Just after play started we already had 350 with registration still open. For the first day, on a Thursday, its a great start to the new Card Player Poker Tour.”
The 22-event series features no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better and pot-limit Omaha tournaments, including a $1,000+$80 main event that boasts a $500,000 guarantee.
The series has already proven to be so popular, that the Choctaw Casino Resort has completely sold out of rooms.
“We are working with three local hotel chains in Durant,” said Lambert. “They are giving us some great rates, like $69-rates straight through. So if someone wants to come down, they can just call here and talk to somebody in the poker room. Our representative can actually book you a room at those other properties.”
Players wishing to get in on the action for cheap can look to the many satellite options that Choctaw is running. There are $45, $65 and $125 single table satellites running daily, as well as two mega and two super satellites scheduled for Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 to win seats into the $1,000+$80 main event.
“This is the first event on the Card Player Poker Tour, and the event is going to continue to grow. With a $500,000 guarantee just on the main event alone, there is going to be a lot of excitement.
