Wednesday, Jul. 11, saw the Nevada Gaming Control Board give Las Vegas head-quartered gaming group, Shuffle Master, preliminary approval for a gaming license.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Shuffle Master was considering its options for providing companies that become licensed to operate an intrastate Internet casino in Nevada with a business-to-business online poker product.

Its current strategy is to offer its table games, such as Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em, to free-to-play social gaming sites and mobile gaming applications, and then eventually convert those players into casino customers who will play live.

If the license goes ahead, Shuffle Master will be the third company given the green light for online gaming in the state, following Bally Technologies and International Game Technology.

Last month Shuffle Master canceled its deal to buy bwin.party’s European-facing Ongame Network.
