Celebrations ended badly for World Series Of Poker Big One For One Drop runner-up Sam Trickett when the British pro was assaulted by six men.

Trickett, who received $10.1 million for coming so close to victory in poker’s historic event, tweeted, “Was having a great day until 6 guys did this to me.Seriously Wtf? Couldn’t be more angry… #cowards” He also attached the picture to the left, which shows the injuries to his face.

An hour later, he wrote, “Is this what happens if ur successful? literally beat the shit out of me and spat in @NatashaSandhu face all over nothing…”

Trickett’s girlfriend Natasha also took to Twitter to vent, “Ok so I can say now…last night didn’t end so good, left the club and 6 guys jumped sam….I have tweeted a picture…”

She soon explained a little further, “It wasn’t a mugging or anything just over nothing, sam is fine..gonna spend some quality time together now :)”

Poker pros and media members have been voicing their concerns and well wishes as the two get over the sour taste which followed Trickett’s sweet success.
