Americas Cardroom to Host its Biggest Tournament
SIte gearing up to host the Liberty Quarter Million
Americas Cardroom is gearing up to host the Liberty Quarter Million, a $250,000 guaranteed poker tournament this weekend on April 15 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The $200+15 buy-in tournament is the focal event in the “Liberty Weekends” tournament series which guaranteed $500,000 throughout the month of April.
A spokesman for Americas Cardroom credited an aggressive satellite schedule and a big increase in player traffic as the main reasons that enabled them to offer the quarter of a million dollar prize pool.
“We’ve worked very hard on our satellite schedule to give our players as many opportunities as possible to participate in this historic tournament for our network for as little of investment as possible. We’re running daily satellites to the tournament as well as a huge 250-Seat super satellite this Friday at 8:00pm ET.”
Americas Cardroom also announced today a big change to all freezeout tournaments. Beginning Wednesday, all existing freezeout multi-table tournaments will become re-entry tournaments allowing players to re-enter the tournament as a new player if they are knocked out while late registration is still open. This new functionality allows players multiple chances to win while contributing to the overall prize pool.
The move comes just in time for the $250,000 guaranteed tournament this Sunday. Satellites into the event are now open, and the late registration option means more opportunity for players to still win a seat, even if they’ve busted out early.
All Liberty Weekend events contribute points to Americas Cardroom’s April $60,000 Points Race. The 250-Seat Super Satellite on Friday will award 1,000 points while the $250,000 guaranteed tournament on April 15 will reward players with 7,500 points in the Race.
