I popped in to St. Tropez midday to do some shopping. I accidentally forgot my sunglasses on the ship. So I picked up a pair and it used up my entire shopping budget for this area. Back to the ship I went.

We came back in the evening and had a drink at Senequier at the 100% corner (that is a real estate expression) and watched people and yachts.

Here's a link so everyone can read a little about the honorable Mr.Shulman. Its a thread started by a player who witnessed him berating players in a $500 tourney and cussing out female dealers for basically no reason. What a guy...

I could post a bunch more but I think one per travel blog is fair

Obviously, the man needed the vacation that he has finally taken.

Wish we could all take one like this some day...

You are right though Seven, I wish the rest of us could take a vacation like him. Sadly though, a lot of poker players are in a really bad spot financially because a large chunk of their roll was stuck on FTP. Many players can barely get by, including many who support a family on poker income. A site that cardplayer told us for years was a safe place to deposit our money and play poker. FTP turned out not to be so safe and none of us will ever see our money again. If cardplayer is really some trusted media outlet, they will come out and tell us how much money they made from being an FTP affiliate and apologize to the players for sending us to that site (and UB). I think there is a better chance FTP pays out though then that happens. It would be the right thing for them to do though, and they only thing if they want to be a respected media outlet. Poker media is getting better and Cardplayer will be left behind.

Do you think Mr Shulman cares that while his company made untold sums of money by sending us to FTP, many families may not have any financial security right now because of what FTP did? If he (or anyone else at cardplayer) cares about that at all, he sure does a damn good job of hiding it.

He spends like half his time traveling. So to suggest he was just a total jerk to people because he "needed a vacation" is a little misleading. According to the thread, he was cussing dealers out in a $500 tourney at Ceasers shortly after he won the WSOPE main event. So he was fresh off a trip to London and a million dollar+ payday and he still acted in that manner. I think its safe to say it wasn't the circumstances that caused him to behave in the manner described in the thread, but his own personality.

I could be having the worst day of my life and I would never behave in the manner he was described to have in the thread.
