i'm sorry lee, but obama does not deserve the peace prize simply because his election into president stopped mccain and palin. i'm not an expert on how they select the winner, but i'm fairly certain they have to DO something in order to win, not have something be done to them (i.e. get elected).

obama is a WAY better president than mccain would have been (and much less scary for the international community) but he has done absolutely nothing to deserve this peace prize. possibly the worst decision in the nobel's history.

I do also and since we can no longer comment under Doyle's Blog I thought I'd comment here. Doyle referenced watching a young man, born with no arms and no legs, speak about his life. This young man's name in Nick Vujicic and I had the privledge of seeing him speak a couple of weeks ago. He has an awesome sense of humor about his disability, from stories about having friends put him in overhead baggage compartments on planes and then close him in, just so he can freak out the next person to open it, to asking stewardesses about upgrades so he can get "extra leg room" to having kids come right up to him and say "what happened?!" He looks at them and says "cigarettes!" A very funny guy with a definately unique outlook on life. His website is life without libs and I'd encourage anyone to check it out to see an amazing individual with an amazing message.

You are also forgetting that the war was voted by the majority of congress, not started because Bush gave an order. As for AIG, they had in their contracts that they get those bonuses and the govt agreed not to violate those contracts-as contract law is one of the most important and basic of laws used to govern. What somebody makes is non of your business, those high level wage earners are the ones that pay the majority of taxes. Without them where would the govt get the money to spend? Contracts: Why should the America taxpayer pay these boneses. The people at AIG because of their greed, and just plain crookedness broke whatever contracts they supposedly had. Businesses sign contracts everyday and don't live up to them if the going gets tough just declare bankruptcy stiff everyone you owe money to ,declare your stock worthless, and issue new stock[Sears Co = Sears Holding Co]what a great system.Guess the only time a contract is valid is when the taxpayers have to ante up.
