Mixing it up with Randy Couture

I skipped the Legends tournament at the Bike this past weekend in order to play in a charity event, hosted by Randy Couture , to help wounded veterans put there lives back together http://www.xtremecouturegifoundation.org/.

I couldn’t be happier with my decision as this is a very worthy cause and I got the opportunity to play poker with one of my alltime favorite athletes. I didn’t think it was possible but Randy actually increased my admiration of him during the event. He is such a nice guy and is so dedicated to this great cause.

I was at a great table with Howard Lederer playing every single hand, rebuying even more than Danny Negraneu in a WSOP rebuy then trying to get rid of his chips after the rebuy’s in order to get back to the filming of “Face the Ace”(which also scheduled filming for day 1 of the Bike, incase you were wondering where team fulltilt was). I went out a couple hands after Randy, who was also at my table. Randy was a novice but seemed to really enjoy himself and managed to make the final table of a tournament, on FullTilt for his foundation the next day, with 160+ players, which he said was the very first time he had played on the internet.

I am planning also participating in a paintball event for Randy’s foundation on Oct. 16th. I have never tried paintball before, but sounds like a blast. I think Randy will have more of an edge in this than I did in poker as he was an army paratrooper for six years before going to college. http://www.xtremecombatweekend.com/index.html

I am toying with the idea of going to the WPT Cyprus event next month, but haven’t decided yet.
