Tuan Le was born on Feb. 15, 1978, in Paris, France, and is already a very accomplished player. He began playing poker while in college. As his talent grew, so did his time at the poker table. This meant less time for school. He eventually left college, 16 credits short of his bachelor’s degree in finance.
His unassuming demeanor but fierce poker skill caught the eye of poker professional Barry Greenstein, who served as Le’s mentor. Le has had 15 major cashes, made the final table in five, and has won two World Poker Tour championships. Both wins were major paydays. The 2005 Five-Star World Poker Classic first-place prize was nearly $3 million, and the 2004 World Poker Finals paid Le a cool $1.5 million. He has accumulated about $4.5 million in tournament winnings, and is mentor to poker professional Nam Le.
