

Hamilton took the advice and played in underground poker games in Detroit, Michigan. At age 36, he wanted to move closer to the action, and he found his way to Las Vegas. In 1994, he won the World Series of Poker main event for $1 million and his body-weight in silver.
These days, Hamilton does not play as many tournaments, but he has not lost his gambling spirit. He was featured in a show for ESPN called High Stakes Golf, wherein a number of poker professionals played golf for millions.
