Born in Aalborg, Denmark, Rehne Pedersen made a name for himself in the poker world late in 2005. He became a regular on the European Poker Tour, but was still relatively unknown throughout the world. His online play was still what he was best know for throughout the poker community.
However, that all changed when Pedersen won a satellite into the WPT Bellagio Five Diamond Classic in December 2005. Pedersen managed to work his way to a final table that included Doyle Brunson, Phil Laak, J.J. Liu, Patrik Antonius and Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken. With such a stacked final table, Pedersen was the relative unknown. He managed to not only survive at the final table, but to come out victorious. Pedersen earned over $2,000,000 for his victory at the Bellagio.
