The "Ambassador of Poker" is best known as host of the World Poker Tour and spokesman for PartyPoker. Additionally, he is a columnist for Card Player magazine. Because Mike Sexton is unable to play in most poker events due to his other poker responsibilities, he is delighted to be invited to play in the 2006 National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
Sexton was born Sept. 22, 1947, and says he "majored in poker" while working toward his degree at Ohio State University. He's also a bridge player and taught the game in North Carolina. He took up poker in 1977, and in 1985 he moved to Nevada to pursue the game full time. In 1989 he won the stud event and a bracelet at the World Series of Poker. Since then, he has made the money in 41 other events, making the final table in 24 of them. He placed fifth in last year's National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
