Mark Vos was born in Cape Town, South Africa but calls Australia home. He began school at Macquarie University but put his academics on hold to pursue poker as his profession. Vos started by playing online and quickly built his skill and bankroll. He is now found playing the highest limit cash games and biggest buy-in tournaments around.
His first major live tournament cash came at the 2006 Aussie Millions championship. He came in eighth and took home nearly $63,000. Then at the 2006 World Series of Poker, Vos took down the $2,000 no-limit event and defeated a total field of 1,919 players. He won more than $803,000. In total, Vos has earned a little more than $957,000.
