Born in Richardson, Texas, John "Tex" Barch earned a business degree from the University of Montana. He is married with two children and now lives in McKinney, TX.
Barch has been playing poker for around 13 years. However, in only his third World Series of Poker appearance, Barch managed to weave his way through a field of over 5,600 players to finish at the final table in the main event of the 2005 WSOP. Barch went on to finish third and earned himself $2,500,000.
