In four short years, David Williams went from being a relative unknown to having lifetime winnings of more than $5.4 million at the age of 26. After forsaking his beloved game of Magic: the Gathering, his attention has been focused on tournament poker. Williams was put on the map after his second-place finish in the 2005 World Series of Poker main event against Greg Raymer. It seemed as though he was in a second-place rut, as he followed that with another second against Daniel Negreanu in the 2005 Borgata Poker Open. Then, in December of that year, he won the Five-Diamond World Poker Classic, followed by a WSOP bracelet in a 2006 seven-card stud event. With many good poker years ahead of him, Williams’ future looks promising. He is sponsored by Bodog.
