Chris Moneymaker turned $39 into $2.5 million, the 2003
World Series of Poker championship bracelet, and a permanent spot in poker history. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and received a degree in accounting. This was his job of choice prior to beating Sam Farha heads up in the 2002 main event.
Since then, he has cashed in other big tournaments, including second place in the 2004 Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament. He also owns his own company, Moneymaker Gaming, and is a representative for PokerStars.
