Now that a little calm has come into my life, I've been able to get out in the world.
At a recent fund-raiser for Peace Games, a charity that helps create a safe environment for children in their classrooms and in their communities, poker was the theme. The buy-in was $10,000, and the event was held at a $35 million home in Bel Air, in Southern California, by Reagan Silbur (the founder of Edge Gaming network) - and the ritz was on! Some of the famous attendees included Jack Black, Tobey McGuire, Mena Suvari, David Shwimmer, Heather Graham, Amanda Demme, Linda Ferro, Alexandra Hedison, Mena Suvari, Bijou Phillips, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They all seemed to really love playing no-limit hold'em.
Jack Black won it all, and McGuire - who is one of the very best celebrity players - finished second. And Tobey's girlfriend Jen finished third.
I was honored when several of the celebs said they loved my book, Play Poker Like the Pros, and that they played poker at UltimateBet.com.
